In our library we organise the book collection by genre. This style of organisation is also known as Living Rooms. Our Living Rooms reflect the structure and culture of our school, with each containing Factual (real life) and Fiction (make believe) titles consecutively.
Additionally: books with a yellow sticker on the spine are dyslexia friendly. We have a growing number of Large Print books spread throughout the collection with a magnifying glass on the spine. Books with a silver sticker on the spine are most suitable for older readers. Flags and symbols denote language resources, while the silver fern and kōwhai represent books with a New Zealand or Māori focus respectively. A rainbow around the base of the spine shows books with LGBTQ+ characters or themes.
